Snowflake Challenge, Day 13
Jan. 13th, 2012 02:50 pmIt would appear I'm ever so slightly derelict in my snowflaking duties, but I decided to do today's challenge:
Talk about a piece of original canon and explain why you love it so much.
( Easy! )

Snowflake Challenge, Day 7
Jan. 7th, 2012 07:42 pmIn your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Drop a link to your wish-list in this post. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Maybe you will grant a wish. If any wishes are granted, we'd love it if you link them to this post.
Hm... I think I've said this before, but I am lucky enough to belong to a fandom that leaves no desire unfulfilled. However, I'm always happy to receive the things discussed in my Yuletide Author Letter. Yes, I can take that any time of the year, for any occasion!
But if I had to think of new things, I'd say, it would be pretty awesome to get visual art work/illustrations based on the fics that I've written myself. I have zero skills with graphic software, so I will never be able to do this for myself. Same goes for icons: I suck at making them (unless they're of Maria Callas, in which case I clearly don't need anything except her beautiful beautifulness).
Also, fanvids. I love fanvids! If you make me a fanvid, I will be a fan of you. Perhaps a fanvid featuring Luke Evans' beautiful face? Anyone?

Snowflake Challenge, Day 6
Jan. 6th, 2012 12:02 pmIn your own space, rec at least 3 fanworks you thought you wouldn't like (because they weren't your fandom or they pushed against your boundaries or you thought you just wouldn't be interested) and that you ended up loving.
This is actually surprisingly easier than I thought it would be. At first, I thought, well, there aren't that many things that disturb me. But then I thought back to how I first met Zoi and I was like, "What? An entire novel full of nothing but KIEFERS??? Bitches be CRAZY!" But then I actually read Behind the Mirror and it blew my mind and now I tell everyone to read it. DO IT NOW. (I suppose I should warn for Kiefers having lots of sex with Kiefers and also vampirism... and non-con... and... really it's
zoi_no_miko. I rest my case.)
I'll be honest, I really don't give a crap about "Inception." But the team of RioQuo always manage to produce quality product, so even though I have ADD (and it was long) and apathy, I really liked The Opposite of Talking! (The sequel too!)
So... BREATH PLAY. I am not into breath play, or any kind of asphyxiation (especially auto-erotic). Public Service Announcement: ALWAYS HAVE A BUDDY SYSTEM! But, dang, this piece of porn based on "The Borgias" featuring Cesare and Micheletto is super hot: Now Does Our World Descend by floatxxaway.

Snowflake Challenge, Day 5
Jan. 5th, 2012 07:43 pmFor today's challenge, we're supposed to share something non-fannish that we feel passionately about. So here it is.
I am a member of the World Shorinji Kempo Organization.
Even though I'm currently unable to physically get to practice, I still feel passionately about this, and I'm proud of being a black belt in this martial art. The first 3 (of 6) tenants are: unity of love and strength; unity of hard and soft; and unity of body and mind. Perhaps one day I will master this!

Snowflake Challenge, Day 3
Jan. 3rd, 2012 09:39 pmToday we were supposed to comment or interact with a new person we've never reached out and touched before (metaphorically, of course). And anyone who writes a Three Musketeers (2011)/Good Omens crossover is worth a little e-poke!
Snowflake Challenge, Day 2
Jan. 2nd, 2012 09:47 pmDay 2's challenge is to rec three works in the fandom that are by ANOTHER, which is obviously a lot easier than praising myself, although don't get me wrong: I'm fabulous. Here goes:
1. The Book of Thoth by
speak_me_fair and
quoshara: This is the one that started it all for me, that is, by wringing out my very first (Anonymous) LJ comment of all time. BECAUSE IT IS AWESOME. I never used to like AU, I did not think you could DO quality musketeer AU, but they proved me wrong in so many ways! Also, the artwork! SO COOL OMG, I still squeeeee like a little girl when I think about how great that universe is. (The prequel rocks my world too!)
2. The Knock by Xris: This was apparently a
yuletide fic before I even knew what the heck yuletide was. But I was lurking like a pro on
andoneforall so I found it magically. This is still one of my favorite fics in the fandom. It takes place in my beloved "between" period (i.e. between The Three Musketeers and Twenty Years After), and features a MAGNIFICENT speech form Porthos.
3. There once was a person who called themselves "Blue Fenix" but now I cannot find their fics ANYWHERE. The reason this is noteworthy is that this was some of the first musketeer slash I ever Googled! My mind: was blown. Even though most of it was based on the inferior "The Man in the Iron Mask" film, the writing was excellent! Blue Fenix: you were AWESOME.
4. But since I had no link for 3, I will have to do a bonus 4. Here are
quoshara and
speak_me_fair again with canon amazingness featuring Rioja, a very brooding Athos, and a very patient Aramis. I give you: Sue For Grace.

Snowflake Challenge, Day 1
Jan. 2nd, 2012 09:17 pmHere I am, participating in the Fandom Snowflake Challenge because
speak_me_fair is a terrible influence.
Since The Three Musketeers is my One True Fandom, these will all be about that.
The prompt for Day 1 is to do the self-recs, which is, as
zoi_no_miko put it, "Like making me pick my favorite child!" or in this case, three (or more) of my favorite children. Children, I love you all, you are all equal, but some of you are more equal than others!
1. "Salve Regina" - this was like crossing the Rubicon! It had purple poetry, lavender rage, and hot sex on a prie-dieu with involuntary praying. I mean, c'mon, I rocked it! *cackles*
2. "Noisy-Le-Sec" - this one allowed me to play in the "between" space in the musketeer chronology, which I found really liberating! It was also very satisfying to imagine what such a reunion could potentially be like, how it might go, and who might get punched in the face hardest. I also worked with
watercrescent on this, in a dramaturgical sense, and that was a great experience too!
3. "Honey and Oakwood" - this is one of the two cross-overs with "True Blood" featuring Erik the Sexy Vampire. I think this one really shows off my incredibly bizarre and crack-tastic side. Also it gave Aramis the opportunity to go up against a vampire, and what former/future priest doesn't want to do THAT?
4. BONUS - "The Plural of Us" which I co-authored with
zoi_no_miko. We are brilliantly sick. That is all.
